The AAC groups were 10 shots each. Each shot was made with 1 second and one breath between shots. This was done 5rds at a time, with a reload inbetween. The first group is the control with 62gr xtac green tip M855. The second group is AAC 75gr Sabre Black Tip, the 3rd group is AAC 77gr OTM. The OTM shot the tightest grouping Sub 1/2MOA.77gr AAC 26" Bolt gun, 5 shot and 10 shot group. There was a bit of mirage after the first 5 shots when shooting the 10 shot group, and shot 8 is the one to the left that opened things up a bit. Overall, not bad for as quick as I was shooting (<4 minutes for all 15shots). I fired the 10x group first, then the second 5x group.

Better accuracy than many of the 77gr rounds I tested in fact. Seems to be love for 69gr from 1:9" barrel. My Colt 20" H-Bar with 1:9 twist really likes 69 grain SMK as does my 16" 1:7 twist Tavor. I have tried 75's and 77's in the Tavor but it shoots 69 grain SMK best followed by most 55 grain ammo I've tested.

The quintessential 77-grain 5.56 load is the Black Hills MK262 Mod 1. However, it can be hard to find and fairly expensive when it is available. Other manufacturers produce similar loads but the prices tend to be north of $1/round. AAC currently has their 77-grain load listed at $14.99 for a 20-round box. That is a very competitive price for ... 77gr Sierra TMK, 75gr Gold dot and 70gr Barnes TSX are pretty wicked. Also the 75/77gr bthp/OTM like Hornady T2 and Sierra SMK are “match” ammo but they do fragment/expand out to a good range especially out of an 18” barrel.
