Immediately after picking up the car from the dealer, we've noticed a sound coming from the transmission/CVT only between 10 and 15km/h. The whine is more pronounced when coming quickly to a stop but also happens when accelerating although its harder to hear under the engine noise. Through browsing several previous posts about CVT whine and the likes, I have taken the first steps. 1) Changed the Front and Rear Differential Fluid (I used Synthetic Gear Oil) 2) Drain and Fill the CVT Fluid. (appx 5 quarts came out, and I put appx 5 quarts of CVT fluid back in) These steps had no impact on the sound.The higher the rpm, the louder the whining noise. I bring it back the Elmore Toyota but the tech said my xB has CVT transmission so the whining noise is normal. But what i concern is i do research on internet and looks like my 2012 scion xB doesnt have CVT!!??! So, is there anything wrong with my transmission?
