I guess alot of it depends on what kinda conditions your riding in. XC racing, the carb can be very tricky to keep functioning properly, but man ...Lean it way over to one side. That upset the floats, thus flooding the bowl with more fuel. Cold weather needs more fuel to offset the oxygen density increase. I do it all the time just to make my carb bike start faster.
