If you have a overheating condition you will see it. The S-VCM product is still a work in progress. Both do, or should, work well. I've had S-VCMs in two Pilots over the last six years and haven't experienced any problems. That said, if you've had two funky ones it makes sense you may feel more comfortable with the Tuner II. We have the VM Tuner II on all our VCM equipped Hondas, not just the PP. On the PP, due to the battery positive terminal orientation/distance, we installed it sideways on the mounting clip after making all connections. The red wire could have been a little longer.
