The manual suggests replacing them every other oil change. I used mine 3 times and by the fourth they were pretty well spent. The only problem I found was in the southern Calif. winters the engine would have a hard time coming up to operating temp. Ran about 190/200 and on 10/40 it runs 210/ 220*.
