Jan 13, 2020 · Well, I ordered and received both a CVA Optima V2 (camo stock & forearm, nitride barrel, scope rail), AND a CVA Wolf (camo stock & forearm, nitride barrel, fiber optic sights). I've never even shot a muzzle loader, and now I own two. I've got a LOT of work ahead of me before the 2020 deer season opens. But I also have a lot of time.

I have a new CVA Optima V2 stainless steel barrel. I currently have it zeroed at 100 yards with 80gr T7 loose powder with 295gr Powerbelt Aerotip. That leaves me 2.5" hight at 50. It's grouping consistently but I'm concerned about my muzzle velocity. Ballistic charts from power belt only go down to 100gr of powder.

This is a great little entry ML but if you have the extra money I would buy either the Optima, Accura V2 or MR (Mountain Rifle). BUT .... the CVA Wolf is still a great ML with a very good price point. I will be upgrading in the fall of 2015 - maybe this year if I sell my Wolf.
