Using PPTO will always take care points if you use enough time to cover the time you miss, even on key event days. (NCNS and clocking in early are the exceptions where PPTO won’t remove points). You'll only need enough to cover your shift - if it's 9 hours with a lunch scheduled, you'll use 8 hours.
