You need to changbe your default shooting mode to AIM DOWN SIGHTS, and THEN, without aiming down sights, you need to just press the "shoot" button to get the hipfire kills. The game, for some reason, seems to think all of your kills are "from the shoulder" kills even when you hipfire if "from the shoulder" is your default aiming mode at that time.
