If going to Fuengirola (the forum you used), the train is cheap, reliable and frequent although not ideal if you have a lot of luggage. Fuengirola is nice when the sun shines, quieter than Benidorm. Entertainment in Fuengirola is very low key. Few places have a music licence and the police raid now and then. It's not too bad in an hotel, but even then much of the entertainment is below par.
