Like most other model years of the Accord, the 2018 Accord Hybrid was a pretty solid car overall. Overheating. The first and most common Toyota CVT transmission problem is overheating. Overheating will occur due to the overloading of transmission lines. The CVT in the 2014 Civic is a second generation Honda CVT. It's been being tested for over two years. The same design was put into the 2013 Accord and had one issue, which was corrected within two months. The Accord CVT would sometimes "stutter" on low speed launch. I haven't heard much about the '06 and '07 transmissions failing. I know Honda had a lot of problems until about 2006/2007 with transmissions. Not directly related but my dad has a 2002 Odyssey which, despite the infrequent fluid changes, is still going on the original transmission. Much better than the junk from Nissan and GM. The only car with CVT issues was some of the HRVs which received a warranty extension. CVTs will not tolerate dirty fluid. Make sure you get your fluid changed when the maintenance minder tells you or every 30-60k miles.
