I believe all the Keystoker stoker stoves come with the standard turn dial themostat. Many owners have switched to a programmable thermo to utilize the setback feature. They work just as a regular furnace. When the thermo calls for heat the stoker starts running. When the thermo is satisfied the stoker shuts down.
