The exotics dropped by the lost sectors are heavily weighted towards the new ones, but not guaranteed. No difference in the quality of the drops between legend and master, only difference is the drop rate. Evidence seems to indicate that master doesn't have a higher drop rate than legendary.

with latest update, the exotic from soloing the legendary/master LS will be on a knockout list, which means you will have higher chance to obtain new exotics, but it doesnt mean that you wont get the old ones, just RNG, go again. i have done it 60 times. i'm convinced "rng" is just god fucking with me.

all exotic can drop in lost sector for that slot for the day. you just need to own the dlc and then it just rng there never locked to one exotic. I do not know if the exotics will drop for those without Beyond Light DLC or Season Pass.
