Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. When I do hear it, it's not continous either...like a few times per second and then nothing, with no pattern.

Don't ask me how I know, had to have aluminum adapter plate, flywheel flex plate and torque convertor replaced because of torque convertor bolts coming loose ...
