I was on the lookout for a used SX500 due to the slightly higher seat height, but 2 weeks ago managed to grab a MX650 locally of FB marketplace and just put a new $15 SX500 shock on it, raising the seat ~2.5". I just eliminated the banging noise on my grandson's new Razor MX650 electric dirt bike's front suspension forks. I placed a rubber washer on the bolt holding the two halves of shock together. After removing the front wheel you have access to the bolt via the hole in the bottom of the shock.
