edit: just called S&W and they said first introduction of the model 41 was 1957 and the first serial number was 1401. so i can only guess that my gun was manufactured in 1957... The Smith & Wesson service rep gave you incorrect outdated information. According to Roy Jinks, S&W company historian, production of the model 41 started on 9/3/57.
