Spectrum told me I could rent or buy the new Spectrum streaming Xumo. Some got it free, but paid $5 a month to rent and to have DVR CAPABILITY, $5 a month to record 50 shows and keep for 90 days or $10 mo for 100 shows kept for a year. With the XUMO you can simultaneously record 10 shows at 8pm, 20 at 9pm! If you want to Avoid the $5.
But I think that for people with non-DVR boxes that setting reminder times should be something brought back to all supported Spectrum receivers that don't have this option. (Spectrum Guide, ODN, I-Guide etc.) This upgrade should be brought back. Some boxes had it years ago under the legacy TWC/BHN/Charter systems. Currently customers would have to call in to order a Xumo and customer will be given the option to rent a traditional STB or purchase/rent a Xumo when signing up for new cable service. My streaming service at my other home is DirectTV Streaming and I have cloud dvr service. That service allows me to pause rewind and fast forward while watching any live show, from any of my streaming boxes.
