Dayz fence to gate.
The only goal is survival. Can't make a fence a gate. I'm on a community server so it could always be a possibility it's bugged for some reason. I've tried everything, attaching the metal wire via left click, attaching by dragging, on wood fence, metal fence, just a wood cage, etc. I get the hammer/hatchet out and don't get any option anywhere.

Takes 15 min or less to crack a 3 combo. 4 combo use grenades. You can hit it with a hammer, just aim very carefully and you'll hear a ding. Not sure if it has to be a hammer or if any melee will work. I did it myself after reading about it on a YouTube comment, otherwise it's not documented anywhere.

Aim for the bottom where the fence is broken and once you break that, the lock will fall off. I only do that on 4 dial locks. Any wall with a 3 dial can be easily opened by just going through the 3 dial combinations. Drag the wire onto the slot in the fence inventory. Make sure you are on the outside of the gate/fence, with pliers in your hand, you should see the wire on the ground, look at it and do the "attach" option.

There is NO other way to "dismantle" the gate parts. If you want to "destroy" the gate, you need 12 Grenades, or 4 Plastic Explosives. You need just 2 plastic explosives to destroy a gate/fence.
