If you are playing on Steam, you can fix this using Steam Input. Enable Xbox Controller Configuration in your Controller General Settings. (You can get there by going into Steam -> Settings -> controller) Then you should have a Controller Layout tab on your Trailmakers game page. If you edit your layout there will be options for inverting the axis. Put your thumb on it and then move your thumb. Easy as that! At the part where you have to put in the controls just move the joystick in the preferred direction to set that as the control for jaw for example. It can be done.
